Thankyou to all who attended our run to Woongooroo Estate. It was fantastic to see such a great turn out. After arrival at the winery and morning tea we were given a briefing by Phil, the estate owner, and headed out on the rally at 2 minute intervals. There was certainly some lovely scenery around the Somerset Dam Region, although a little hard to take in whilst looking for observation points to complete our questionnaire. There were plenty of opportunities to give our Vets an extra spurt along the way. By the time we all returned from the rally the heat and humidity had really set in, keeping hydrated was a must.
Following our lunch we had the awards with John and Lynda being the winners of the rally, followed a very close second place (2 seconds) by Paul and Nellie. Well done teams and enjoy those bottles of port. Yes being the fastest doesn’t always make you the winner. All entrants also took home certificates of participation.
We welcomed new members Ken and Amanda, and their son Kody, who also came along for the run. They will have their red C4 on the road in the very near future, which they are really looking forward to. We also had a birthday girl along with us, many happy returns Jan. I think we all enjoyed that Pavlova.
Finally we moved on to wine tasting with Phil. He gave us some interesting tips, also some very nice wines from his winery to sample. Thanks to Phil his wife Gail and daughter Amanda of Woongooroo Estate for their hospitability, great effort and a well organised day. After our goodbyes we all headed home. Again great to catch up with all who attended.
Thank you P and K.
