AUGUST:

 

Bribie Island Day Trip - 24th.

Meet:  BP Service Station - Caboolture north
Time:  9.15 am for 9.30am departure.

Details:    The club has been invited to make the trip up to David Harber's Classic Car Restorations on Bribie Island. David will give a tour of his workshop and his collection of Corvettes. Lunch will be at the Bribie Island RSL, 99 Torbull St., Bongaree.

 

Friday night coffee run - 29th

Finish off the week with an enjoyable drive, coffee and chat at The Coffee Club, Gympie Road, Aspley. Plenty of parking in the car park of the Pick n Pay Hypermarket. Meet at 7.00pm. Enquiries, please phone the Run Coordinator Bill on 3889 1824.

 

 

SEPTEMBER:

Monthly Club Meeting and AGM - Monday 1st.

Our monthly club meetings are held at Shannons Insurance, 11 Ross Street, Newstead. There is plenty of safe parking so bring your Corvette out for a drive. The short monthly meeting starts at 8.00 pm followed by the AGM.   For more information, phone our club President - Garth Earney on 0439 350 454.

 

Run to Toowoomba Sunday 14th.

Details:  The plans at this stage are to take a trip up the range to Toowoomba to check out more items of interest that we didn't get time to last trip. Once again, our Downs members Kevin and Dianna will be organising the days activities. More details will be posted as they become available.

Noosa Beach Car Classic - Sunday 28th

Time:  6.00 am for 6.15am departure.

Details:  Our club will once again be represented at the annual Noosa Beach Car Classic which is held at the Noosa Heads Lions Park. The marque for this year is the Maserati. Exhibitors entry is from 6.00am to 9.00am, hence the early departure time from the BP service station. Cost is $15.00 per car which includes two adults (try fitting more than that in a Corvette). Proceeds from the event are donated to charities and/or worthy causes (NO! more modifications to your Corvette will not count as a worthy cause!). OCTOBER:

Mystery Run - Sunday 5th.

This is a real mystery run because at this stage the webmaster knows nothing about it except the date. More details will follow as soon as the Run Coordinator finalises it. However, keep this date free as it is sure to be a fun event.

Saturday night dinner date - 25th:

The club will be going out for a dinner and good old 'chin wag' for a Saturday night out. Good parking for the Corvettes. More details will be posted shortly.

 

NOVEMBER:

Club Christmas party - Saturday 22nd:

This year by popular demand we will be having our Christmas party at a members place. Owen and Robyn have kindly offered their place for this. At this stage it is planned to be a lunch/afternoon get together with a few surprises. More details will follow shortly.

Lockyer Valley Spectacular - Saturday 30th
Murphy's Creek Progress Association are promoting a family entertainment day to raise funds for the Cancer Council. There will be a huge variety including: displays of cars – old and new, custom vehicles, cruisers, 4WD’s, specialty vehicles, vintage motorbikes, Ulysses bikes, Harley Davison bikes, and model trains.  There will be musical performances on stage and entertainment all day; children’s rides and side show alley, and HOG rides. The event is licensed and there will be food all day.  Camping available. Come and meet the crazy locals and give your time cash and enthusiasm to a good cause. Time is 9.00 am to 11.pm. SEPTEMBER:

GM Day Autospectacular - Sunday 7th September.

Proudly presented by the Buick Car Club of Australia, this day promises to be one not to miss. As it is Father's Day, why not make it a special occasion and come along and enjoy seeing any car or truck made by GM in all their glory. Speed on Tweed - September 20-21.

The Festival of Speed on Tweed is where fabulous old cars and drivers meet and compete in the town of Murwillumbah. Over the years this event has helped raise monies for a great number of charities and this year the McGrath Foundation will be the supported charity.
